I've been looking up some of the references in the Jeon et al article mentioned in the last post (An Automated Refactoring Approach to Design Pattern-Based Program Transformations in Java Programs). They are almost all not relevant to this dissertation but brought back to me that I need to accumulate a list of 'names in the business'.
Some famous names:
Gang of Four: Erich Gamma, Richard Helm, Ralph Johnson, John Vlissides
William F. Opdyke
Martin Fowler
Also, I have now finally purchased "Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code" by Martin Fowler et al. I was putting it off while trying to finish the other books I've already bought but this is a seminal work so I can't put it off any longer as it may prove to be a useful catalyst.
